Motor Trike is adding to its line of trike accessories with a new tire pressure monitoring system. The trike manufacturer recently signed an exclusive contract with Big Bike Parts, making them the sole provider of the TireGard Wireless Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) for trikes. The system continually monitors tire pressure and temperature of a trike’s three tires.  

The three readings are shown on a digital key fob, which allows the rider to set ranges of acceptable tire pressure and temperature. When the system detects abnormal levels, the rider is alerted with a vibration and/or an audible tone through the LCD monitor. These features help the driver keep the tires within the manufacturer’s recommendations. Maintaining proper tire pressure can reduce the risk of a flat tire, yield better fuel economy, reduce tread wear and improve vehicle handling.     

Motor Trike is offering the TPMS as standard equipment on all trike conversions it sells in 2012. Riders can also order the TPMS direct from Motor Trike for $269.95—the systems are available for immediate shipment.
