The Progressive International Motorcycle Show is kicking off its multi-city tour this weekend in San Mateo, Calif., with 11 other major cities across the US to follow from November through March—and TRN readers can get a discount off the online admission ticket price. The Progressive International Motorcycle Show is the largest motorcycle series in the nation, offering a place to find all the latest gear and accessories, new motorcycle and trike models, hot customs, demo rides (California shows only), and more under one roof.

This weekend's first show marks the launch of the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike and Trike Show, an elite-level custom motorcycle and trike builder competition. Contestants can enter at any and all of the 12 shows for a chance to win a piece of the $90,000 cash purse, more than any builder competition in the world. Four cash prize winners will be chosen at each show and at a special finale in March at the Daytona Beach show during Daytona Bike Week.

Here's a list of trike manufacturers we're aware of that will be exhibiting: BRP will be in attendance at every stop with its 2012 Can-Am Spyder roadsters on display, plus a Spyder Five Ambassador present at the Long Beach, Calif., show. Cherokee Trikes will be exhibiting at the Charlotte, N.C., show, and DFT Trikes will have a display at the Chicago show.

The show will also feature Kawasaki's Design-A-Bike, a state-of-the-art interactive digital wall display allowing motorcycle enthusiasts to design their own custom exterior paint and graphics package on select Kawasaki motorcycles (click here to see a video of this cool program in action). Other highlights include the Dream Pavilion, a display of some of the world’s most luxurious and exotic motorcycles; the Marketplace, a top-of-the-line showcase for aftermarket parts and accessories; the Learning Curve, featuring more than two dozen free seminars; the acrobatic motorcycle moves of the Smage Bros Stunt Show; and much more.

Last year's displays included trikes from Voyager (left) and Harley-Davidson.
